155k Recommended Service
Hi I just bought my 04 G35 6-Speed. It has 155k miles on it, and sort of an impulse buy. The car has no service records, all I know about it, is that it drives, shifts and stops fine. But I want to take to a dealership and get it checked out and serviced. Someone already meantioned that i should take it to a Nissan dealership since they charge less. My question is what should i get serviced on the car? I was planning on having change the oil, trans and diff fluids. Is there anything else I should get done on the car while its there? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank You
Thank You
If *I* purchased a 155K mile car with unknown history, this is what I'd do
Engine oil
air filter
cabin filter
brake fluid
trans fluid
differential fluid
spark plugs
radiator coolant
power steering fluid
inspect/replace belts

So I haven't taken it to get it serviced yet but today I just noticed that it's burning oil at hi rpm. Nothing at idle but when I Rev it white smoke comes out the tail pipe and smells like oil. Idk what it could be
Fouad, members have already listed everything that might need to be serviced. There's no reason to spend the kinda $$ that the Stealerships wants for service. Any qualified mechanic can drain & fill all the fluids, change filters and R&R the plugs. White smoke generally means a blown head gasket! (search white smoke) A compression test might be in order to find out. Good Luck & enjoy the ride...Gary
so after reading up on the oil problems, I checked my PCV valve, and it was soaked in oil. I think that might be causing my problem. I will replace that tomorrow.
Gary, 5150, jbl and Mustang, thanks for the advice. Ive always wanted to do a couple of diy projects on a car, just never had the chance (my dad never trusted me to do anything car related) so I think I will start tackling those things on my own, starting with that PCV valve and air filters, then probably plugs. I will probably take it to jiffy lube for an oil change, since they do free top-offs. I will probably take it to a mechanic for the rest of the fluids, I havent had someone check the under body for rust or anything (should have done it before I got the car, but I needed to a buy a car that weekend and I felt like it was a good deal)

Its a sedan tho. The sedans have always been fairly cheap. Throw those miles on it and it makes sense. A low miles 6mt coupe can still get really decent money for how old they are.
