Megan Racing Y-pipe on stock exhaust

Ok, I know this has probably been answered somewhere on here already, but will a Megan Racing Y-pipe bolt directly to the stock system? more concerned about the diameters of the piping from the aftermarket to the stock. has anyone used this or can help with the stock diameters to see if this will even bolt straight on. any help would be greatly appreciated thanks guys.

I bought the Megan Y-Pipe after my stock flex pipes started leaking terribly on my 06' coupe. Bolted right on and did the install myself in a about two hours. Had to cut off my mid-pipe though and buy a used once since it was so rusted on. Muffler had to be welded on to that pipe as well, since the flanges were disintegrated. Just an overall PITA, since you'll be dealing with a lot of rusted bolts and possibly end up stripping and breaking them. Lots of PB blaster and heat was required along with a Dremel and Sawzall.

Why do you want to go with another y-pipe, is yours rusted out or are you looking for WHP? Looking for gains forget the y-pipe and replace the OE cats with HFCs, that's an easy 8 WHP! Megan Racing...this cracks me up, anyone that races doesn't use a y-pipe!

Yes it is a little rusted out, I was going to replace it with the Megan Y-pipe that I acquired, not necessarily trying to get gains as it is welcomed but rather a better sound from the car. @ Coffeysm how did that Y-pipe sound on your coupe? @ Gary "anyone that races doesn't use a y-pipe!" your right about that lol, none of my cars have them they are all straight piped.... but I wanna keep my G sedan clean with some moderate mods and a nice sounding exhaust instead of that huge bulky restricting OEM exhaust it has now.

Well, I went from having large exhaust leaks and sounding like a Honda with coffee cans back to a decent sound, lol. Other then that though there wasn't much of a difference I could notice.

yea don't wanna run around sounding like a Honda lol.... ok so now my issue is I believe my stock exhaust is the 2.25'' to a 2.5'' and the Megan Y-pipe is the 2.5'' to 3'', any way to make it work with out a whole lot of cutting and welding? I was hoping this was a simple un-bolt and bolt up the new one.

Megan "Race Pipe" should bolt on although I doubt if you'll notice a significant difference in sound, not even close to ricey! Ricey, is that what a "fart cannon" sounds like?

Ok, so even though the diameter of the stock exhaust y-pipe is 2.25'' to 2.5'', will the Megan pipe that is 2.5'' to 3'' still directly bolt on?

Direct bolt-on no welding or cutting required at all. That's only required if the flanges are rusted off or you end up breaking bolts, rounding nuts, etc...

Just get a lot of PB Blaster, Propane torch (maybe something hotter), and a breaker bar.

Ok awesome, I was worried they wouldn't line up since one is smaller than the other... so I should be ok to drop the stock and just bolt up the new one with out any problems besides the possible rusted bolts? like will the stock 2.25'' flange bolt to the 2.5'' flange and the 2.5'' flange to the 3'' flange? if so I will start working on car now

He lives in Florida, they don't have rust! Just humidity, big azz bugs and an occastional boat load of people from some island...Gary

Those Big azz bugs and island people bring all kinds of different rust to Florida. I blame the dragon fly and love bugs, they have rusted my sunroof on my RX-7 and cause daily cleaning of my cars.... but back to the main question guys sorry to be repetitive but will the stock 2.25'' flange bolt to the new 2.5'' flange and the 2.5'' flange to the 3'' flange?

I guess I should update that, lol. I moved from FL to PA about five years ago, so I get a lot of rust now!

Yes, direct bolt-on. If I remember right the bolts are welded on the CATs also. So, you'll have some extra bolts left over.

Ok thanks for the info about the cats coffeysm, I would like to get this part on and then look for a nice mid pipe and axle back exhaust while I'm at it, give the G a nice tone and open up the flow.
