Newbie... Car debate...

I have been reading this forum for about a week now, some great rides and great info. I am currently debating a new car. I am looking at a 2001+ BMW 530,98+ Lexus GS300 or 03+ Infiniti G35. I would like a car fun to drive, good gasmilage (over 22 on highway) and a car that has potential to be modded cause I just cant leave things alone. I like the BMW cause of gas milage and handling from factory, I like the GS and the G35 cause the ability to add turbos. What made you choose your G over other cars.

Thanks everyone

I think the Lexus GS300 is ugly. I'm sure it's a nice car and very reliable and all but it's not to my taste. Not to mention it only has 220 hp. The BMW also only has 225 hp and it's expensive, even a used one probably cost almost as much as a new G35. Not to mention, it's not comparable to the G35, the BMW 3 series is comparable. Honestly, if you just want to say you own a BMW or a Lexus then get those, but remember you're getting the bottom of each series so don't expect too much (as opposed to a GS400 or BMW 545). If you want a great car at a reasonable price and don't care about what your neighbors or friends think then get a G35. BTW, I get a lot of compliments on my G35 at work. Even from a co-worker who has a Mercedes C32 AMG.
Also, I get 24 mpg doing about 80% highway on my G35.

*results not typical.

Other than that, everything ^he^ said.

...Actually now I've said that, that _may_ be a typical MPG number for highway driving, but personally I do lots of highway driving, probably closer to 70% and I've never seen anything over 20mpg in any one tank.

Fuel economy is one of my only disappointments with this car. But after driving it for a while and having so much fun I don't really worry about it

Ok, maybe not completely accurate because 24 mpg is the best I have gotten. But I have never gotten below 22 mpg. I get consistently between 22-24 so I guess average is 23mpg then. Maybe it's because I don't drive it as aggressive as others, but I also don't drive like a granny either.
