Throttle body and ecm problem, please help!!
Hey guys, I'm having engine idle problems with my 2003 Infiniti G35 Sedan 3.5 L V6. At first, i took it to the Nissan dealership where they told me that my throttle body needed to be replaced because it was not letting them reprogram it to my ECM; Nissan installed a new throttle body and tried to reprogram it several times, but it wouldn't let them. They told me the next step would be to replace the ECM (which I cannot afford right now). It is continuing to idle at about 1,100 RPM when in park along with the check engine light which is still on. Any help or advise would be appreciated. Thanks!
Why didn't you take it to an Infiniti dealer where a factory certified trained technician would have had the proper Consult test equipment to test it prior to replacing parts?

Nissan dealership use the same Consult II and should have known how to test the throttle body too.... same steps and procedures as for the Nissan 350Z....
The problems is that now a days most mechanic don't know how to fix this other than say this parts needs to replaced. If they get lucky it will be fixed, if not ,they will tell you the next part needs to be replace. I willing to bet that once the OP will replace the ECM he will have the same problem.
If they replace the throttle body and it did not fix the issue they should have refunded him the money.
Reprogramming the throttle body can sometimes be a pain on our cars. Sometimes you need to do the learning function a couple of times.

doing only parts won't let it mate up. either that .. or there is a bad ground which is my go to scape goat. grounds on our G-s are not the best.
Should know may not always be the case.
You can if you feel qualified obtain the same FSM and follow the instructions yourself.
I learned many years ago the hard way to never trust untrained so called mechanics to work on my car.
I'm on my second Infiniti purchased from the same dealer. I've been an Infiniti owner since Dec 05 when I purchased my 06 G35. Put 171796 happy miles on it with very few problems
I have an excellent dealer with well trained mechanics.I'd rather pay a little more and have the job done right the first time with no hassle.
I also get a free loaner whenever necessary and snacks if I'm waiting.
Also a free car wash and a vacuum of the inside
