airbag fault

So i got a SRS light for my driver's airbag, the one in the steering wheel.

Its super simple to replace that airbag, but i was wondering if i other things SHOULD be replaced at the same time. Parts like the clock spring and the control module come to mind.

Clock spring probably. One of the more commonly failing parts. But I also tend to subscribe to "if it ain't broke..."

Btw, how did you manage to diagnose the airbag code? I haven't spent much time reading the airbag FSM but is there a code dumping method?

Just like on older nissans with the door jam, we just cycle the key and codes flash.

Well i have a code for drivers airbag. The flashing light doesn't have a code for clock spring exactly but i was leaning towards that as well. Seems like $150 part and a few hours.

Been reading, people have issues with angle sensor when they touch the clock springs. So this repair is kinda up in the air... airbags popping is never a good thing.

I had the airbag light come on a few months ago... I was able to turn it off by cycling the key/ignition. Hasn't been back on since.

^ give it time, the fault happened for a reason. I haven't had the time to get this looked at, nor priced out properly.
