Well, I finally got my exhaust done this past weekend (about 2 weeks later than scheduled LOL). First off - the rust was much worse than I expected. I PB Blasted these nuts every night for a week after getting home from work, and you can see why -

In the end, one of them actually came loose with the breaker bar, and the other one rounded off, so I didn't have a choice. I used my cutoff wheel to slice the hangers, then the Sawzall to cut the mid-pipe and I removed the exhaust in one giant rusty chunk. I used wire hangers tied around the Y-pipe to support it, then we cruised over to the local Midas and had the studs torched off.

FYI, it turns out the studs going from the Y-pipe to mid-pipe are splined. You can see in this pic here -

I'll do a writeup another day with the rest of the pics I took for the DIYers out there on how to swap an exhaust in your driveway. It's totally doable!

Thumbs up For everyone with rusty nuts

I sometimes have to deal with rusty nuts and no matter how much PB Blaster I spray on my nuts, they just wouldn't come loose. But, now I no longer have that problem. I now use Irwin's socket set on all my rusted, rounded, and hard to loosen nuts. This socket set is made specifically for those hard to loosen nuts and no matter how long they've been on, with a little PB Blaster and my Irwin socket set I ALWAYS get my nuts off. So if you guys want to get your nuts off like me purchase Irwins socket set and never worry about getting your nuts off again....Lmao. Yes, the socket set is real. Google it and you'll see. I believe I paid $30 for my set and it is well worth it.

That's pretty much what my exhaust looks like now. Entire underside of the car looks great other than the damn exhaust.
