03 rough idle flat on the highway
03 rough idle flat on the highway
Hit a curb sideways and scuffed up my front rim pretty bad, ever since, the car has seemed to want to shut off for months now when idling (even did once at a light), also idles very roughly. on the highway the car has lost considerable power as well. I changed plugs since im @ 100,000 miles and that didnt help , afterwards the check engine light came on and I took it to the mechanic and he changed the driver side cam position sensor and told me the computer would eventually reset it self. I also noticed right away that the car was running the same so I took it home and unplugged the battery for an hour and the check engine light stayed on car runs the same its been a week, I dont want to take it to the dealer, hopefully someone here can give advice. Check engine light is still on, I have an obd2 reader .I'm now getting under stored codes: (there are no pending codes found.)
p 0152 o2 sensor circuit voltage bank 2 sensor 1
p 0444 evaportive emission system purge control valve circuit open.
I got the camshaft pos sensor from infinity, and the car was indeed giving me code for the camshaft position sensor until it was replaced.

For P0444, see page 422
For P0152, see page 268

If your scanner does live data, you should be able to pull up voltage from that O2 sensor and confirm it's operating correctly.
The evap purge control valve is on the engine. You should be able to test it according to the FSM before deciding to replace it. IIRC, it's about $100ish for this sensor (from rock auto), so I'd confirm it's bad before replacing.

whewwwwwww
Solved!! i wanted to share the good news, I finally was getting "cylinder 1 misfire" on my dash command i phone app so i took cylinder 1 engine coil out and reconnected the parts started the car and it felt somewhat better right away! the misfire code was gone , I next pushed the clear codes on my phone and I felt the car immediately feel like it had always idle/run... codes cleared and stayed cleared took it for a spin very peppy !!! couldnt be happier!
