I bought it because it retained the steering wheel controls.

Navigating through it is a little tricky and took a while to get used to it. You can access the menus through the readio headunit, and use the steering wheel controls for song advance, and volume, but it's slow to navigate if you actually wanted a song from a specific artist.

I set up a playlist, and just use that while on shuffle.

It has the old school iphone 4 hookup. I have to see if there is a lightning cable adapter for it as I have an iphone 6 now. You can play Pandora through it as well.

My iSimple kit retained the volume controls on the stressing wheel. In my experience, the adaptors to convert the 30 pin plugs (iPhone 4) to the lightning port (iPhone 5 or iPhone 6) do not work for applications such as this. I suspect it won't work at all or you will lose steering wheel controls.

The speed of those old units is great! Simple because there is no garbage, just the basics .

Pretty reliable too. Going on over 10 years old here and still runs great despite being banged around quite frequently.

Yea, I have one of the older 30gig Ipods and still works. I dropped it in the ocean (literally) and it still worked after it dried.

You have a couple of options.

1. FM transmitter from Besbuy, Ebay, Amazon, etc. Its the cheap option but not the best quality. I have the iSimple from bestbuy for $40, works fine but has interference sometimes.

2. Install an aftermarket deck.

Not sure if the kits mentioned previously will work with your 03.

I have a 05 X and it still has the factory radio I was just wondering if there is anyway to put a Bluetooth setup so I can listen to music rather than installing that aux you guys are talking about. If there is could you tell me the name of it and where to get it please. I don't want to change out my radio because I love the steering wheel controls so I would love to be able to listen to my music from my phone wirelessly with the stock radio so if possible please let my know!!

Look at what I posted. That's one of your only options. Then check the larger audio thread - there a few other options...none of them are great, only good.

the USA SPEC unit is the only way to go. It's been solid the past 6-7 yrs. Plus it retains the fuctionality of your steering wheel controls.
