Tire Pressure

Whats up guys.. Tonight I went down local car parts store and got me a digital tire pressure gague... then I went to the gas station to pump air into my tires (because I was pulling right)... anyways.. I have Bridgestone Potenza SO-3's 245/35/19 all around and on the tire it said 51PSI MAX.... I spoke to one person and they said that tire pressure has to be 10-20% less than MAX normally.. is this correct???

Do I pump the MAX pressure of 51PSI in my tires?? or should I go around 40PSI?

Right now they are at 40.5 all around..
