installed my motordyne thermal plenum spacer today, Not sure if i noticed much power gain but it does sound a little more throaty. Hopefully getting my exhaust put in Tuesday. Put rear ceramic brake pads on yesterday. Sound system on Wednesday. Gonna get it dyno tuned after the exhaust gets put on.
Just have to paint the brackets black and mount the ballasts. I'm ordering factory m3 bezels to hide the little if any imperfections in the grill from cutting. The fog lights have a lip on them and fit over any rough cuts making them invisible....
Went to talk to the exhaust shop that i was going to have my dc sport headers and kinetix racing hi flow cats installed today and they told me it was a bad idea because there is not alot of room around the OEM manifold and the aftermarket headers take up more space so it would be right next to a fuel line and some wiring harnesses. He said you would most likely have to re-route those lines and wires so they did not melt and after all that is said and done he said i would most definitely have a check engine light on. He told me the high flow cats are basically a thru pipe, not much different than doing a cat delete. But the listing for the hi flow cats specifically said they will not throw a check engine light http://www.ebay.com/itm/380531955005?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
Any one know if this holds any weight? I assume they are telling the truth because any other shop would have just said yup we will do it and take my money regardless if it was gonna throw a CEL or not.
My other question is, if there is a way to install these headers and the high flow cats and it does throw a check engine light, could i bring it to a dyno tune to adjust the Air fuel ratio and all that to correct the CEL?
In the mean time i had them delete one of the mufflers and the resonator and put in my cheapo eBay exhaust , sounds pretty good.
The jury is still out. With the high-flow cats and coupe intake/midpipe it's pretty LOUD. It was just a short drive back from the shop but I don't know.... we'll see if I get used to it. It's a nice deep tone, but there's a lot of it!!
