Yeah I took a good donor set of OEM lenses and replaced my old ones. I think there was too much original goop left in the housing on one side, though. I used silicone to bind the two halves together and I think one side had just a little too much. No big deal.

I'll be making a trip to the muffler shop soon too, the resonator that came with my Tanabe exhaust just isn't cutting it at legal Texas freeway speeds (75-80), hoping a longer resonator will knock out the drone at those speeds. Pretty much everywhere else its fine.

Replaced the leaking valve covers with the sneaky-cheap Maxima swap discovered by TunerMax. $88 on eBay vs $600 for a set through the dealer? Yes.

Of all the cars I have ever owned, I would rank changing the valve covers on a VQ the second worst* job there is. The amount of crap you have to get past just to re/re the covers makes what would be a one hour job on any other car a 5+ hour job.
I also installed a Kinetix velocity manifold and aramid gasket in preparation for next month's supercharger install.
Tomorrow's to-do list: cutting a couple of new vacuum lines to replace the cracked ones I discovered today, using zip-ties to re-secure the wiring harness. Ditching the stock intake plenum means losing a couple of harness mounting points.
Also tomorrow: hoping deleting the throttle-body heater won't be problematic. As it seldom dips below freezing here I'm not too worried. We'll see!
*worst job, in case you're wondering, is replacing the clutch on a Saab.

i feel you on this. I have a NA and a FI car already this G was supposed to be my DD. I have a Stingray that's stock and a 5th gen Camaro Twin turbo LLT. I'm at this point just building a fun DD (that wasn't supposed to be) to make my hour drive to work and back more interesting

Sue me but I love monster Miatas. I had a '91 with a homebuilt turbo and even with just the +/-210hp that gave me, that car was nuts. I wanted to put a 302 in it but in the end a car that small is just too impractical as a DD.

I did it to my 03 Mustang GT about 10 years ago. Weighs about the same as the GTs. I remember on a scale before I got real into it, it was 3240. Took a couple tenths off my time. 200-300 pds is doable with effort. A rear seat delete kit is key. A whole backseat assembly can weigh 80-100 pounds. Racing seats, lighter body parts, etc. With 256 RWHP and a tad over 3050 pounds empty, I was running 8.1 in the 1/4 mile but more aftermarket availability for a Mustang. 4 link rear end built with 4.10 gears on ET Streets was the key. I was rocking 1.60 60 foot times out of that 256RWHP car.
