Hey guys

My cars check engine light came on. I got the code read and its P0462 (Fuel Level Sensor Circuit Low Signal)

I noticed it came on after I filled up the gas tank the other day. Also my fuel level gauge reading always shows full even when there is less than 1/4 of gas left.

So I pulled out both fuel sending units and cleaned the graph looking pads for the fuel level with QTips and rubbing alcohol.

I drive around again and no light. Then I go to fill up again yesterday and the check engine light came back on with the same code.


Any thoughts or ideas what I should do next? I was going to replacing the sending units but there is 2 of them so I dont know which one. I also heard members replacing them on here and still had the issue. I just dont wantto start throwing parts at this car if it doesnt fix it

Well i figured it out.

I used a multimeter and tested out the fuel sending units. As per the fsm

FULL: 4 ohms
EMPTY: 45 ohms

My tank is completely full. Im getting 4 ohms on the driverside and only 1 ohm on the passenger side.

Guess it is the sending unit. I ordered one and I am hoping for the best.

Any update? i am having the same problem.
