Those balljoints are toast.

I'd snap a picture of the inner bushings where the lower control arms bolt to the chassis. These are a common failure as well.
So pretty much I need a whole new suspension work done to my car? I barely bought this car and its becoming a headache already. Really missing my Lexus reliability at this point, but what's done is done. Gotta suck it up

What makes matter worst is that I just contacted Z1 motorsports, they have a ball joint for sale for 71 dollars a piece, but they cannot confirm if it will fit my 2005 g35x. I can't find one at Rock auto as well. It looks like its just all bushing replacement, but a lot of them sell it with the control arms

G35 to g35x salvage help

I have a 2006 g35x. It was clipped in the back right. I live in the South, so there aren't many g35x salvage cars around. Is it possible to buy a 2006 g35 the repair the back? It's mostly cosmetic except the arm on the back right is broken. Will the back corner panels and deck lid fit?

I wouldn't know I'm new to this g35 game myself.

Thanks. I'm trying to find out if I can use a salvaged g35 with the back end intact to replace everything I need. There are zero g35x in the south it seems.

Ok can anyone shop around for me websites for good affordable prices that are near OEM quality or better.. Inner tie rods, outer tie rods, front lower ball joints. I'm getting frustrated on which ones to look for since I'm no mechanic and not knowing what to look for. Don't forget to include poly's as well.

Really? How about you do the shopping around and come back with results and ask for opinions.

Check out Rockauto.com. They are starting to get a lot more replacement parts in stock these days. A lot more than they had 2-3 years ago.

balljoints are ~$65 there. Tie rod ends are ~$20 each there (will need alignment after).

How many miles are on these car? This really isn't a reliability issues as it is normal wear and tear for a car with 10 years and xx number of miles on it. Nothing here is really a show-stopper.

Pretty much everything from the rear driveshaft back is the same on the AWD models and RWD models. Shocks and sway bars could be different. But body parts, control arms, trunk, etc are pretty much all the same.

+1

You said you got a good deal on the car. These are just part of buying an older used car. If the drivetrain is solid, it sounds like you got a good car.

Nothing to be upset about here.

If your Infiniti dealer said those tie rod ends were fine, don't go back. Any component with a torn boot (CV, balljoints, tie rod ends, etc...) is living on borrowed time and should be replaced repaired as soon as possible. Once the boot tears, dirt will get inside them and act as an abrasive.

Also, you should probably pressure wash the undercarriage of the car since it looks pretty dirty and having it somewhat clean will help minimize any risk of getting dirt places it shouldn't be when the repairs are done.

There is NO WAY any good mechanic would have told you NOT to replace them. I bet they didn't even put it on the lift.

But they don't have ball joints for AWD only for RWD

I knew my ball joints were screwed before they checked it so I'm sure they did get it on the lift, but I could be wrong. I'm also addressing some other issues with the car like gas problems.

I've been contemplating on just selling this car as is because I'm afraid its just going to get worst. I bought an 03 Lexus IS300 with 140k+miles on it last May 2015. I sold it last month to get this G35x.
The Lexus is300 has never given me any problems despite that traction control light flashing, it was due to a dirty brake sensor. It was an easy fix overall electrical, engine the car was flawless for its age, miles etc. Had no engine issues, no annoying electrical problems. Now this 2005 G35x is much more fun to drive, its definitely faster, doesn't seem to have engine problems crossing fingers, but its an ELECTRICAL NIGHTMARE/ SUSPENSION NIGHTMARE

my clock is not working

my left signal indicators won't appear until I hit on the top part of the dashboard guage cluster

Some reason fuel guage is not accurate. Put half a tank of gas 7 minutes later drains down by 15-20% not even driving it fast.

bose cd player wont eject and sometimes it will eject

passenger side windows rolls down by itself after rolling it up.

Oh you know the suspension problems I'm having.

my temp is a little below half but when idling too long lets say 15 minutes when ac is on.
it goes to half and ac doesn't blow cold as soon as I get going it gets cold and temps go down below half (wtf???)

when the car sits overnight, starting it the next day sounds like its having hard time to start for a quick sec but throughout the day it starts smoothly wonder why?

The oil filter hose is leaking there is clamp on there, I pushed the hose a little more towards the oil filter and its still leaking from it. Should I replace the whole hose and clamp?

How can I check my mpg on this thing? I don't have the navigation screen.

Also when adjusting my steering wheel ( not the up and down) but when the steering wheel goes back and forward, its making a lot of noise like its stuck. Also my driver seat forward and back is also loud like its metal touching metal.

I really love this car and would really love to keep it. I hate to say even my old 2002 328i was a lot more reliable electrical and suspension wise. But honestly this really goes down on previous owners, maintenance records, but it seems a lot of g35 owners are having a lot of similar issues like I am having. Did Nissan R&D engineers not take any time on their little things like Toyota does?
