I noticed that I have only driven 900 kms since Jan 1st. Last year I think I only drove 3,000 kms. I live in a neighbourhood where I can walk almost anywhere I need, including to the beach. I only change oil once a year now.

Any comments other than drive more often.

Cheers

Consider renting when a vehicle is needed

This^^. Why hold on to an asset you have to pay insurance, fuel costs and potential repairs when it's rarely needed. The longer you have it the more it depreciates so you'll get the most $$ out of it if it sells soon.

I'd still change the oil more than once a year, even if synthetic.

Old, used oil tends to accumulate fuel and water and break down and form acids that can slowly corrode and sludge up an engine. That's why they say if you are going to store a car you should change the oil immediately before parking it long terms.

Having ripped apart engines that sat for years with old oil in them, they tend to be pretty gross inside.
