offer him $800 lol. everything feels so sketchy about this car. You'd be chasing gremlins forever. if you had one already and needed parts, this may be a good candidate or like if you needed a fresh motor to build up or something.

 

I paid $4998 for a 6 speed G35 sedan in great condition with all service records and the maintenance log completely filled out. 132k miles, 1 owner, always a Texas car. So paying $1800 and more than double that to fix what's wrong is a terrible idea. Come down to Texas, you can easily find a rust free G35 sedan 6 speed for $4000-5000 with less miles. Be worth a plane ticket and drive back.

Conversion brings that up to $5200 - $6500cad(this is a straight conversion, so you'd actually be paying more at the actual buying rate) + 6.1% Import Duty + $100 Air Conditioning Tax + $195 documentation fees + Out of Province Inspection + 5% GST = $6200 - $7700+

you're at the same price now as a local vehicle at market pricing if not more for an earlier model. Even if it was a later model, it would be harder to sell. There's a stigma on buying a US import car here in canada, so unless you're gonna keep the car until it is run into the ground, don't expect to sell the car easily when there are an abundance of local Gs.

 

Just for a rust free car its probably worth it.
