I didn't realize the coupe didn't have the seventh speaker. It sounds very good in my sedan with everything from acoustic blues (Rory Block, Robert Johnson, Eric Clapton, Jorma Koukonen, etc.) to Eminem, Outkast, and Ludacris (yes, my iPod is full of some very eclectic music). I listen to lots of different things and so long as my song EQ isn't too screwy when I burn the disc or coming off the iPod, the Bose system sounds quite good.

The only thing disappointing about the G coupe is the sound system. I never expect a stock system to really "thump" but the Bose system (in the coupe) does not even "pop!"

I believe for 2004 models, the sunroof and Bose system were available seperately from the Premium package. I don't know whether that is still the case.

The sunroof is available separately but I don't know about the Bose system. The dealer I bought from had quite a few '05 models with just the sunroof; in fact, the vast majority of the cars had Premium packages and no other options, or sunroofs only with no other options. I asked the salesman about that when I was there and he said, "We order what our customers want to buy, that's why we usually only end up with a couple leftovers at the end of the model year. And our customers always tell us they want sunroofs, even if they don't want to pay extra for the Premium package." They do have a few with Nav, and a few with the Sport or Aero packages and one or two with every conceivable thing under the sun, of course, but those are the exception rather than the rule.

He also pointed out that every car they sell has a clear bra package installed as soon as they get off-loaded from from the truck (nose, side mirrors, door edges and around the keyholes) because the number one complaint they've been getting for a couple years has been paint chipping. After reading about that issue here and on FreshAlloy, I'm glad I have it.

Get the Premium package. If you don't, you'll always wonder about what might have been. Each thousand finaced is about ~$16 so 3K is about ~$48 more per month.

I LOVE all my premium package features. In particular, I am a fan of the intelligent key and the auto ingress/egress feature....I love how the steering wheel and seat move back making it easier to get out of the car.

don't forget that PP gives you the adjustable rear headrests, just look more luxurious for this class of car.
Home links come in very handy. I can open my community gate, my garage, and the third button, I programmed it to my sister's gate...lazy people like me don't like to call to open the gate

I think the PP also includes the heated seats plus the self defrosting side mirrors. Mine did (2004.5). I'm sure the rims are different also.
Lacking a garage I love my hot seats in the morning!

I actually did not wanted the premium package because, like you, I didn't think I really needed any of the feature. But I wanted the navigation and you can't get navigation without the premium package. So I got both. And let me tell you, I am sure glad I got the premium package. The intelli-key alone makes it worth it for me. Very cool and convenient! Home-link is also very useful, since you don't need a remote control (you can store 3 codes). Reclining rear seats are also pretty good. My brother was not all that impress with any of the premium package features EXCEPT for the reclining rear seats. He just thought that made the car really "classy". And I don't use the moon/sun roof that much either but it great when you need it. Again, I think it also make the car look classy and luxurious. The price is a little high for the premium package but I think it is worth it.

I feel that the options 'make' the car. I've never regretted the Premium Package.

My G just has a sunroof with no premium. I am quite happy with this combo and think the other features were not worth the extra $50 a month IMHO. But some of the options would be cool to have. If the fifty is no big deal for you then by all means get the premium, you can't go wrong. If the extra fifty less makes it easier to convince your significant other that this is the car for you (like someone I know) then this is still a great car without the premium package fluffies.

I would not have bought my G35X without the Premium Package. For the $3500 you get alot of features that, if you don't "need" them now, you WILL want them later. Big items I HAD TO have: Sunroof, memory seats, dual climate control, entry/exit assist, and homelink. The auto dimming mirror is nice too. Bose is a so-so option. Sounds better than base, but not by much. Intelligent key was the icing on the cake. I don't regret my decision at all. I love this car.
