Broken Tail Light

My fiance backed into another vehicle over the weekend and broke our tail light. I have ordered a replacement tail light lens and am wondering if its a big job to install. Has anyone had to replace their lens that could provide some input?

Thanks,

Can't help you with the light, but wanted to say sorry about your misfortune.

Sucks.

Are you still going to marry her?

Yes, you have to remove the entire assembly. Unfortunately you cannot just buy the outer lens. I know because I had a small chip in my outer lens, and had to replace the entire tail light for like $160 (dealer price is like $240). That's for the coupe though, not sure about sedan. It's really simple, like 4 bolts you take out after pulling the carpet back and the whole light falls right off. Just pull the carpet back in the trunk...you'll see how simple.

Ahh, I see. I wasn't aware that the whole assembly needed replaced. From the the picture in the ebay auction that I won, it looked like it was just the outer lens.

If that happened to me, I would have a great excuse to update rear lights to the '05 version. I tried letting my wife drive the car, but so far not as lucky as you
