Corgidog, this sounds like a personal insult to me. By trading my 04 G for a 02 MB that automatically put a poor bastard status me. That's pretty shallow. Have some class.

But I'm kind of happy for your comment as well. This is the first time I hear someone refer me as poor, I must did a very good job in disguising myself by toning down my acts. Marriage must have done some magic on me that turn me from a rich brat boyfriend into a humble familyman. I move 2 hour driving distance away from all my friends and relatives. I guess without my rich friends to brag about new cars and gadget, I only focus on what I need in real live and not wasting money to impress others.

***CLK belong to my younger cousin by a day. She wanted to get a SUV for her new born baby girl. Its in prestine condition. With extended waranty, its should get me going for another 3 years until I decide what my next ride should be preferabily a BMW(3s/5s) 3.0 turbo or MB E320 EFI turbo-desiel.

Yeah...go ahead and trade. Is that the re-enforcement you wanted? But, just for laughs and giggles read the new 05' Consumers Reports ratings on that car so you'll have a better understanding of why you'll get "cleaved" when you go to trade it back in to get another Infiniti. You have no idea how many peoples' hearts I crushed when I had to break the news to them about the value of any of the C series MB line (C= is for Chrysler/crap.(Don't BOTHER with what Kelly's says about the car...that's not close to what the dealer books are. Kelly's is for gerneral public consumption only! IT'S FREE LOL) But, go ahead ...pull the trigger Sheriff. Good Luck, JBX

I'd stick thith the G....the CLK is a nice car but I wouldn't say its overwhelmingly nicer than the G. Plus wasn't that body style of the CLK around for a few years already??

If you're doing it as a favor for your cousin, then you can't be faulted. But I wouldn't do it. I had an 00 CLK430 and it was a fun car, but my 05 G sedan is as fast as that was. I didn't feel like the CLK would have gone into it's higher miles without having many more problems. I got rid of it at 39K miles, but that was more for financial reasons. I don't usually see the 320 as much of a fun car, underpowered and not as attractive as the 430 was with AMG rims and ground effects.
If I was looking for a coupe it would definitely be a G, but your sedan should be more reliable and faster than the benz.
Good luck.

I think you'd be foolish to trade. I believe the reliability rating on the CLK is low and would be costly to maintain.

a kid in my class at school today got a 05 clk 320 thats black and was bragging about it like crazy. he knew i had gotten a g so he tried to rag on it by starting out with "how much horsepower you got?" and then going down the list of things he thought he had the g beat in. when you look at it closely, the g beats the crap out of the clk320 and costs like 10k less so please stick with the g. also the new clk320 wheels are straight up hideous

When I was a kid we had to walk 15 miles to the Mercedes Benz dealer in the dead of winter with the wind blowing 90mph into our faces just to get our aftermarket parts. Man, you kids got it lucky.

Is it only me or do other people read about kids in school with 05 clk's or G35 and wonder "what are these kid's parents thinking"?

whats the deal with people ragging on kids whose parents buy their G's for them? i'm fortunate enough that my parents could buy me a car because i got alot of scholarships and stayed instate for college. there are so many people who, for some reason, it makes them mad that high school kids are getting G's as presents. if their parents want to buy them one and can afford it, then no one has the right to get all mad and make fun of them for it

Sorry if I insulted you, as no personal insult was intended. I was just doing a parody on what I perceived as a dumb move and carrrying it out to its extemes. I really don't understand why you would trade a relatively new 04 G for a 3 yr. old CKL with mileage and poor reliability record to start with other than the Mercedes nameplate. If you want to hear the answer which I think you want to hear, post the trade on a CLK forum.
