2003 RWD Sedan - Front Lower Control Arm / Transverse Link Bushings Bad?
When replacing my starter last night I noticed this arm (called a transverse link in the manual, AKA lower control arm) had a bad bushing at the far side away from the wheel, and the eye-end is smashed against a frame piece. Both driver's side and pax have the same condition. I tried pushing the arm on the raised side towards center and it gives only slightly. Not making any noticeable clunking noises. See pics.
1) Do these need to be replaced if there's no noticeable noise or vibration? Can it be "silent but deadly"?
2) I've been reading mixed reviews on replaced bushings, is it better/easier to replace the whole arm? I do have access to a 20 ton press. Bushings are $20-60 and the arm is $87 from AAP.
2003 sedan, 178k miles, stock. Never lowered. Will probably drive until it can't anymore.
