Oil cooler gasket

Do I really need to drain the oil in the pan to replace oil cooler gasket, the reason I ask, I just changed the oil few week ago.

Just drain it into a clean container and reuse it.

And yes you do because you have to take off the oil filter and oil cooler to replace the gasket.
