2003 vs 2003.5 6mt swap questions

i have recently picked up a blown 2003 sedan for a project car .. im a few weeks away from buying a new vq and trans swap from the local importer it comes with ecu and harness .. my question is since i have the odd ball ecu .. will there be any issues going to the 2003.5 and up engine and 6mt ecu I know that the oddball ecu is on on the sedan autos .

Just to verify, it sounds like you are taking an early 2003 AT sedan and swapping in a newer ECU AND a 6MT correct?

Yes that is my plan. But having the weird grey plug ecu I'm trying to verify if there will be any issues. Or can it be done just like the" how to" 6mt thread states?

The other end of the harness will simply plug into all other connectors, everything else should plug in directly and you're basically left with just fabrication for the clutch pedal and shifter. You may or may not need a different BCM I don't know if there were revisions that made them unique for various chassis configuration, I think they are the same and they WILL need to be programmed to work with the new ECU, I think NDS2 can do this or you can tow to the dealership after all the rest of the swap is done and have them do it.

You will want a non-rev up ECU though so a late '03-04 6MT one.

Yeah I think that's all covered under the "work support" function, you will need to pay for the BCM decoder to get the 4 digit PIN number for your BCM. Raygun was just dealing with all this stuff recently when he swapped ECU's, here's one of the posts he made on it.

I recently did 6mt swap in my auto car ,I'm using all the auto harnesses and ecu but my question is do I need to keep the atuo trans control unit [behind passenger kick panel] plugged in since I don't have an auto in the car anymore. my reason for asking is I'm getting eractic speed sensor code but the speed sensor was in the autos transmission pan

The speed sensor is data being fed into the TCM which then communicates it's results back to the ECM (ECM also uses that data directly for other things like speedometer signal), if you no longer have the 5AT installed but are still using a 5AT ECU and TCM I expect a TON of errors once the vehicle is actually moving. I doubt you will be able to fix it since those parts were never designed to be used like that.
