I have a 2003 with a after market radio. I have read up on the treads and they all point towards the radio as the culprit. I put my amp meter in between the neg post and cable. 1.02 amps. I pulled the fuse for the radio and it dropped to .02 So I pulled the radio out completely and checked again and its back to 1.02 or so. I plugged the radio back in and now its close to 2 amps. This thing is messing with my little brain...

 

Odd. Good luck fixing it.

 

Might be the amp actually drawing the power.

 

I was thinking that. I will find the amp and disconnect it. Probably in the trunk right?

 

I am having that same problem with my 2005 G. I think the Bose amp is the issue. I am also getting static in the stereo. If I change out to a dual din new receiver do I need to purchase a new amp as well?? Any tips as I am not done anything special to mine. I bought this my G brand new in 05 and have 165K on it

 

Good question. I will hate to have to replace the entire sound system.

 

Did you use a wire harness to the aftermarket deck or splice into the infiniti one?
I ask, as the remote wire to tell the amp to power on, may be connected to the 12v constant, instead of the blue 12v remote - this would leave your amp in an always on mode.
In the trunk under the rear deck to the left of the bose sub, is the amp (i think its a single amp for the system). I believe you can unplug it there, leaving the radio fuse intact and meter the battery again.

 

Base stereo also appears to be an issue. Original owner had it replaced under warranty due to a battery drain.
