Smoke coming from behind engine
Smoke coming from behind engine
Hi everyone, I recently bought my car a few months ago with a cylinder misfire. I replaced the map sensor and haven't done much since. Last night I started her up and drove her down the road and for whatever reason she was struggling to shift and had an overall loss of power (more then usual) and smoke and a melted belt or plastic smell started coming through the vents. It got so bad I could barely see was able to make it home and popped the hood and all the smoke was coming from behind the engine. Any ideas??
Check all fluids, get the vehicle up on jackstands and look for obvious signs of failure. Start the engine and look for anything dripping out.
Inspection mirrors are definitely your friend for this kind of troubleshooting.
