Help with Rear License Plate Light
Help with Rear License Plate Light
I noticed the light on my 05 G35x was dim and I figured why not replace it.. I purchased a set of LED lights on Amazon for about $16. When I looked under I noticed I only have one light under there..and I dont know how to take it out. There are 2 screws that hold it in place in the back. Did I couple searches on Google, I guess Coupes have 2lights? There is no tab to press like what I’ve seen on youtube. If anyone can help me out I very much appreciate it!
That amber light is not factory. On my 04 sedan, it is just a single light bulb assembly, kinda flimsy from what I remember when I was working around there on my backup camera.
If you are having problems accessing it, get to it from the top by removing the plastic sill in the trunk.

It's common (at least for us that deal with snow) for the bracket that holds the lights to corrode to the point that they just fall apart. The bracket is expensive (~$80), so I'm guessing someone just half-assed a solution. You're going to have to figure out how to undo their mess. I think the budget solution around here is to just use double-sided foam tape to stick the two OEM or OEM style bulb holders above the plate.
