tail light running lights and license plate light wont work HELP

Today i installed aftermarket hid fogs in the bottom reflectors of my 06 projectors on my 04 g35 coupe. Install was normal, i plugged everything in and i cut and spliced the negative wire of the hids to the black ground wire running into the bottom reflector. The hids work great but the front side marker lights and the runnin lights in my 06 tail lights arent working. Just to clarify, when i turn the headlights on the LED lights in the tail lights wont work unless i hit the brakes. To make things worse the license plate lights dont turn on either. This is a problem because now i cant drive at night.

Any help would be appreciated. I dont see why having 06 headlights and 06 tails would cause anything ive had them a while the only thing thats different is the hid fogs which i dont see a problem with either. If it helps any, some additional info would be that when i installed the hids in the bottom i removed the small city light because i figured that it wouldnt harm anything and it would be extra hot in there anyway. Also, i checked the reverse lights and they work fine . i als checked the fuses that corresponded with the tail lamps and oher lamps and all of them seemed intact, no breakage. Let me know what ideas you guys have.

GL to you. I'd return everything back to the way you had it and see if it fixes it.

I had it happen to me recently. It's the 4th or 5th fuse behind the battery. It's a 10amp fuse

Ok so in steps,

- remove battery cover
- remove the cowl cover behind the battery, it's 2-3 clips
- there's another fuse box on the wall, on the left side. You'll see it when you take the cowl cover off. It's the 4-5th down in the 1st column on the left. Just check the 10 amp fuses in the 1st column.

Hope that helps. Let me know if u have any more questions.

If the fuses are still good,'try disconnecting the battery for couple minutes as a last case scenario.

Good luck!

Same issue! Please help me!

I have the same issue, only that my fogs are stock. I think one bulb is out & one of my reverse lights are also out

I have LED's on my license plates & on my Side Markers but I just took the bulbs out for my Side Markers.

The tails don't light up unless I brake. What works is my signals, hazards, head lights just not my License Plates or tails.

i replaced the fuse in the back of the battery, top left row with 10a fuses numerous times all blew. Again today with 15a fuses & all blew.

I'm seriously in need with help on this! i thought I fixed it before cause I managed to had them work but when I drove it at night & pulled over to take photos of my car I noticed the problem came back.

Also my center console lights are either dim or off. I tried using the dimmer scroll but it doesn't work. It did work before when my lights worked I believe.

I drive an 06 G35 coupe with Navi.

Please help! I'd be appreciative on any responses!

Usually when you have an issue after an install of some sort it's related to the work. Go back and double check your wiring, replace all bulbs you took out and check all fuses again with a proper fuse tester. Looking at the fuses to see if they're blown doesn't always identify a problem fuse.
