I’m attempting to replace the reverse light switch in the transmission, and this thing is blocking the way. What is it? The switch is directly above it, and with this in the way there is just no way to access it without dropping the transmission.

 

Vibration dampner. Usually has 2 bolts holding it on.

 

Thank you. It is held on to the trans with three bolts, and I was able to get two of the three off. Not really sure where to go from here, because it’s not worth dropping the trans to just replace the switch.
