camshaft sensor help

Okay so for about a month now, my 2006 infiniti g35 has been losing power every once in a while (mainly at red lights) and when i go to turn the car back on the vdc, slip, and service engine soon lights come on, and when i check the code it comes up that the camshaft sensor needs to be replaced and after a few start ups, the lights go away. well, i decided to change out the sensor finally (twice) and when i did, the car takes a few seconds to turn over and the lights stay on. the first time i changed it was with a junkyard sensor i took and thought it just didn't work either. so i went to autozone and bought a brand new one instead and the same issue came up so i changed it back to the old one and the lights go away and starts up normally but still loses power out of nowhere. i just need help figuring out what is wrong at this point, thank you in advance.

Did u replace it with an original Nissan or Hitachi sensor? Other aftermarket brands dont work well with these cars. Are u sure youre replacing the correct side? What code is popping up?

i forget the code number but it reads that its the camshaft position sensor bank 2. and i replaced it with the duralast brand from autozone but i also got one from the junkyard off another g35 and the vdc, slid and ses lights still pop up no matter what. then when i put the old one back in, the lights go away. but it dies out of nowhere

If you plan on keeping the car for awhile I would just order both cam sensors from the dealer. I had the same problems on both of my cars until I bought the new OEM revised cam sensors and never had a problem again. Before the OEM sensors I tried a set from Ebay and a autoparts place on the web and both sets didn't work correctly.

Dealer is really the only way to go. Mine had an aftermarket sensor in it when I bought it. Two of the three connectors were bent and not even making contact. Swapped in a new OEM sensor, 50k miles with zero issues.

Hitachi is who makes the part that the dealership puts into the baggy. It's literally the same thing, the only benefit of dealership sensors is you can usually pick them up the same day (for double the price) whereas Hitachi ones will likely need to be ordered.
