I have an 05 G35 sedan that I bought about a year ago. I thought that it was a 2wd version, but the other day when I got my ID cards from Geico, it showed the car as an AWD version. I thought it was a mistake, but I put my VIN in the VIN decoder and it also said it was an AWD. The badges on the trunk were missing when I bought it, so I don't have the G35x badge to go by.

-Is there a way to tell by looking at the car, that it is an AWD, for certain? Some component that is only on the AWD?

-If it does turn out to be an AWD version, should it have an "X" on the "G35" trunk badge? Or does the 05 have something else?

I don't think I have a Snow button, but I do have the "F" in my VIN, so I'm still not certain.

 

U can look under the car to see if the front wheels have axles.

 

I don't have a picture, but the sedanX front bumper has a third smaller opening without screen down low in the center. RWD has only the two larger openings left and right.

 

Definitely just look under the car for front CV axles coming out of the wheel hub, turn the steering wheel fully to one direction and you don't even need to be UNDER the car.

 

Just look to see if you have front axles. Used cars can contain all different kinds of interior and body trim.
