ROOF LEAK / RUST. Cheap fix?

Hey all, hope you guys are doing well and your families are healthy!
So i’ve had my 05 G35x for about 4years , it had about 113k when I got it, now it has under 161k..
There are 2 ‘major’ issues about my G.. one is the famous inaccurate gas gauge that im not really concerned about now...
second is this roof leak it has. The car already had rust on the roof when I got it, and I didnt think much of it. This leak has been happening for about a year now.
When it rains, it drips on the driver side panel and by the sunglasses holder. Also when it’s cold out my windshield gets foggy from the inside which is super annoying.
Would ‘silicone sealant’ do the trick for this? Or would I have to remove the rust/ replace the windshield? This leak makes me what to buy another car but im focusing on buying a house soon, so im planning on keeping my G for a while.
Thkank you

My cheap and easy fix would be to vinyl wrap the entire roof and fill all the edges with silicone.

I wouldn't use a silicone based sealant just because even the best UV resistance is pretty **** when it comes to silicone.

3M NP-1 is neoprene or Sikaflex 1-A is polyurethane, either would be a good kind of sealant to use, requires some surface prep to adhere and the color is going to obviously mismatch. If it's an actual HOLE in the metal I would go that route just to keep the water out, dig out the metal a little then fill the hole with Sikaflex which is a sort of grey color anyways, use a flat scraper to feather the edges smooth.

If it's not a hole then it might just be a leaking window moulding, talk to a local reputable glass shop about removing the windshield, installing a new moulding, and gluing the **** out of it when they reinstall.

EDIT: Sikaflex 1A comes in a color called "aluminum grey" which is actually a fairly close color match for your car, that's probably the route you would want if you decide to go the sealant route.
