'04 6MT partial restore..

Aloha,

This has been a fun corona project for the last couple of months.. Going well!

So far..
-full engine disassembly
-new rings
-new bearings
-new valve guides
-both subframes out(front replaced with new due to collision damage)
-kybs on all corners
-energy master set
-full de-crusting and some replacement metal(rockers, rear trunk support channels, etc)
-gas tank out for minor fixes
-fresh CD00A from Infiniti
Everything on the outside of the car has been touched but I am curious if I need to replace the rear "floor pan reinforcement" structure. It was absolutely crustified and came out in two pieces when I originally removed it.

Do I need it?

Thanks!

Pics incoming.

Yeah you should replace it, source a used one from eBay or something. Take it and coat it in either undercarriage spray, or truck bed liner, or something (urethane based preferrably). It flexes a lot and cracks the paint at every joint, then it rusts out at those points. Without the rear stay brace your chassis will flex more.

Understandable, i figured it failed due to salt collection (Canadian winters).

The car is summer only now.

Would this suffice in its place? My subframe connectors are almost junk.
