OMFG Dam Cali and its laws!!

So I just got my car last week, just 6 miles on it. And I did not know that when the dealership put on the front liscense plate (the car just arrived at the lot that morning) they fuking drilled two holes into the FRONT BUMPER. Those jackasses. So I went in today and asked about what they could do about it. They said nothing. I got 05 sedan by the way, anyone know if these ****** are lying to me? Anything I can do. And if that were not bad, one of the ****** screwed on of the screws on the front liscense too much and scratched the paint, which is beside one of the holes.

tell them to replace the bumper... they are not required to install the front plates. its not a cali law its a county law depending on where you live.

They should have made you sign a little disclosure that says something to the extent of "you know it's against the law not to mount the front tag, but you can still decline having us install it"...

The dealership I bought mine from asked me if I wantd them to put the license plate on.. Of couse I said no

I know of some dealerships that actually buy some brackets so they can mount the license plate without drilling holes in the bumper... Sounds like your dealing with a cheap dealership and they decided to screw your car

I experienced the EXACT same thing when I bought my G. I was livid. The matter is not yet resolved.

That's why even on a new car you have to examine everything before you take delivery.

Mine, in Texas, must have the front plate. Mine was put on with a "no drill" bracket.

I talked to the dealership and they said they can't do anything. I got screwed up the ***. My county requires the front plate, but the fact that they are damaging the car for this requirement is ****ed up. I agree, they should have had me sign something or at least let me know they were doing it.
Should I put a plate up there, or would placing something else on like the infiniti symbol chrome plate help?

List the dealership online here so others are aware of their practices. They obviously don't care for the customer once the money is theirs...

the dealers are just following the letter of the law--that is, they have to sell the car with the front license plate holders. if you didn't want it, you MUST notify them beforehand and sign a waiver. it does suck but you can't blame the dealer. for me, i knew that fact and i reminded them many times before i took possession of my coupe. i think if you make enough noise, the dealer may patch up the holes. they will NOT replace the whole bumper....no way. i've seen coupes with matching colored "plugs" that are used to cover the drill holes.

Damn dude your being a little too ****. the bottom line is that if your required to have a plate, they are required to put the plate holder on. Sucks, but that is the way it is.

I have the 04 with a front license plate. I put mine on a few weeks after I got the plates in the mail, even though I was planning on putting on just the back one. My momz got a ticket at LAX for not having a front license on her ML (Benz-SUV), so I just put mine on too. I mean why should we give cops the opportunity to pull us over over $hit like this? I am almost sure that ur car (metropolis) still looks as nice and sporty as it was made to be, even with a front license plate. I second Shodog when I say: Don't be so ****. Anyways, don't our cars come with the front license cap that is colored matched to our cars too? I think we all do, b/c it came with mine. Too bad its just chillin in the garage.

I guess I would be considered **** too... I guess bottom line is the dealership should offer a plate bracket. There's no excuse for putting holes in someone's car, even if someone else can justify it by saying it is the law. The law is black & white, but so is the fact they added holes where they were not intended. Just my 2 cents.
