Hello. I’m new to the website so I do apologize if I accidentally mess something up on here. I’ve had my G35 for nearly 4 years now and I know there’s still a lot I don’t know about the car so please be patient with me. My third brake light only seems to work when we get cold weather here in South Texas. The thing is that once the inside of the car is nice and warm the light stops working again. I have no idea how to fix this. I appreciate any help.

 

Quite common issue for the 3rd brake light to not work. My '05 never worked, and my '04 was VERY dim. Apparently there is a diode that can burn out, and some have luck replacing it (solder in a new one). I ended removing the light and buying a stick-on LED light strip and soldering that in: I had to drill a hole to access one of the screws to be able to remove it from the car. Was not hard, but you have to be flexible like a contortionist to fit into the trunk and drill upwards!!

 

I had the same issue. Soldered in a new bigger diode and its been working great ever since.
