Problems starting after doing pop glitch

https://youtu.be/K6f7aS8e95A

so after watching this video I decided to do this glitch, or whatever you would call it, a couple times. The last time I did it today, after stopping the engine and trying to start it again I’ve had problems starting the engine since. Sometimes it downright won’t turn over, sometimes it will start to turn over but won’t. Sometimes it will turn on but make weird sounds, and then sometimes it will turn on but weakly. Give the very short video a look to better understand what got me here in the first place as I feel the video itself will explain the “glitch” better. I’m scared to say I’ve fried my ecu almost as if it’s stuck in that “glitch” mode that the video requires you to do for the popping effect of the engine. after attempting a hard ecu reset nothing seems to have changed. I’ve charged the battery and nothing has changed as well as used one of those additional voltage boxes to assist and that does get the best turn over rate yet isn’t a fix in itself. I’ve never really seen a problem like this yet and would really like any and all opinions if possible, all help is very appreciated on my end. If anyone has any idea of solutions please say. Give the video a look for a better idea of what got me in this situation. I definitely won’t be trying to glitch my engine to make the exhaust pop anymore after this.

Probably blew up your upstream O2 sensors.

All turning the key off/on rapidly is going to do it interrupt spark and put a little extra raw gasoline into the exhaust where it's literally going to EXPLODE ON YOUR O2 SENSOR...

I can't recommend strongly enough to never EVER do this intentionally to your car unless you just have a lot of extra money to throw into repairs or you're intentionally trying to blow the thing up (which is literally what this mod is doing).

As for fixing the issue, not really sure tbh, pull the O2 sensors and clean them in gasoline, don't get gas on the wire harness. Let it soak with just the sensor up to about the threads in fresh gasoline then swirl it around a little and a bunch of crusty black soot will shake out of it, hopefully that gets enough of the soot out of the sensor that it will start working again.

Otherwise just buy new Denso sensors for $125 apiece.

Or you melted the cats, not likely but possible, also possible the explosion broke the element. Borescope the cats to see if they're broken/melted, if so then replace them for $350 apiece.

I will clean the o2 sensors and see how that works, I replaced my battery’s and still the same issue so it’s definitely not that. As for the startup it’s almost a different reaction every time I turn the key. Most of the time it sounds like my starter not even engaging but sometimes I get weird pops and sounds as well as no engagement. Sometimes it halfway starts like it’s beginning to start but doesn’t fully start all the way.

Sluggish starting might just be a worn out starter.

Updates

So after reading some of your recommendations, I first started by checking the starter which was in fact worn out. The teeth weren’t too grinded it was more so the starter teeth itself falling in and out of place instead of being stable. I changed the starter out and it started just fine after. I also noticed oil everywhere on my engine and wanted to take care of any leaks before throwing that new starter on but realized it’s not another valve cover gasket leak but rather oil coming from my front crank seal leaking oil after I stop moving (especially after high Rpm runs) and lower my rpms, increasing pressure. So I also replaced this front crank seal. Most of the oil just seems to be residual oil from the last time I replaced valve cover gasket and just never cleaned it off. One last thing I did was clean off my 02 sensors like you suggested, seeing as they were still functioning but could’ve been affected by me doing those engine pops. As for the ecu I took it to a tuner and he said there were no ecu faults at all. So seems to just be a simple starter fix. I don’t know how the engine ecu glitch I did triggered this almost instantly, but I’m glad me glitching past the ecu didn’t affect it at all.

Probably just a bad case of COINCIDENCE. Glad it wasn't something major.
