Z1 Subframe Bushing Collars

I'm wondering if anyone has had a similar issue when installing their subframe bushing collars from Z1.

I installed these along with an LSD from a 350Z and the Z1 poly diff bushings in my G35x. Install was straight forward but the top collar on the front right subframe bushing wouldn't quite squeeze into the air gap no matter how hard I squeezed. Tried re-orienting it several times and kept having the same issue. I reinstalled the subframe and torqued everything to spec.

I decided I would let gravity do the rest of the work for me once the vehicle was dropped to the ground. At first, both rear wheels had a decent gap between the top of the tire and the bottom of the fender, with the rear right side sitting a little higher. Took the car around the block and heard a few clunks in the rear end, got it in the garage and both sides are now much lower. The rear left is back to where it was sitting originally, and the right side is sitting 1/4" higher than the left.

I'll be doing the same process in the morning of driving it around and letting it settle in and continue to re-tighten to spec. I'm not too concerned about everything settling into place, but I figured I would ask if anyone else has had this issue. Couldn't find anything about it on here or the 350Z forums.

Thanks in advance.

It definitely needs some “motivation” and lubrication to sneak those collars in. Just make sure they are seated (they don’t pop out the top) and you should be good to go. NVH decreases with time but not sure about body height differences. What is your shock setup?

One of them is still not fully seated. It's got 1-2 mm to go before its fully in, but its getting closer with each drive and re-torque. Replaced the shocks two years ago, zero sag in them. I have DS series BC Racing coilovers sitting in the garage waiting to be put on. Waiting for my wheels to show up before I put all the suspension stuff on.

I was doing some research the other night and it appears I'm not the only one with a sedan that sits higher on the right side of the vehicle. Perhaps mine has always been like this and I'm only noticing after the collar install as I'm looking specifically at ride height differences.

Either way, I took the G out the other night. Between the LSD, diff bushings, and the collars, the car feels so incredibly planted, and almost shorter in wheel base. The turning radius was slightly shorter as the rear subframe stays stiff, and the AWD system is much harder to engage as the rear diff holds power on both wheels before kicking out now. Very excited to get the Transgo kit installed.
