Finally, my 2003 G35 sedan had its first engine issue

I've had this car since brand new in 2003. I gave it to my dad years ago, and it's been flawless, which is amazing for a car approaching 22 years.

Driving it this week, during particularly cold weather, I got:
P0300 - multiple/random cylinder misfire

All the plugs looked good, but car was running super lean and misfiring. I should have realized that this was a post-MAF air leak, but I was in a rush and changed out the coils, since these are also the usual cause and they do wear out.

So, while disassembling the intake to change the driver's side plugs, I noticed that the clamps on the air intake had loosened and it was sucking air. Ahh well, problem identified.

This car is amazingly well made. 130k miles, 21 years and this is the biggest engine problem I've had out of warranty. (I did have some early transmission problems, this being one if the first 6MT's in the US). It's an old man of a car now, but still runs like brand new. Impressive. None of the cars I've bought since have been as solid.
