Need alignment for 04 Z suspension??

I just got a set of 04 Z suspension (revised).
I am just wondering if I need to do alignment if I put them on and what are the specs I should be looking at??
Would I need to do an alignment again in case I don't like the ride??

I know I am a trouble maker but don't want to screw up the alignment too much cause I might be selling it in about 2 years and my dealer is SUPER MOD PICKY UN-FRIENDLY.

Maybe I should just re-sell it back?

Yes, you will need an alignment. You can use the OEM sedan specs or if you want a slightly more agressive range of settings you can use the OEM coupe specs.

This is what I am set to, be your own judge if you want to follow suit.

You cannot adjust the front camber unless you purchase front upper adjustable control arms, but you should not see numbers on a 1" drop that will be a problem front camber wise.

My alignment specs on a oem 350Z suspension drop.

Front camber -1.1/-1.4 (I've seen the right front like this on other G's and Z's, not sure why some car's are like that).
Front toe in 1mm total (set to .5mm on each side)

Rear camber -1.3
Rear toe in .8mm total (this is less then recommended, but my setup has zero at the limit behavioral issues)

I do not have any issue's with inner tire wear and I do not take many corner's at less then 7/10th's.

Jim, my numbers were even farther off in the front camber after I installed my 350Z setup. -0.9/-1.3 on the front camber. My alignment shop was able to match the rest of the recommended numbers you gave me and I think it works great. Felt good when I took it to Buttonwillow last fall. I too had no extra inner tire wear with about 9K miles on that alignment setup. Just wish I could even out that front camber but don't think it's worth it at the time as it's not that bad.

You should always have an alignment done after lowering your G. Have the Z suspension installed, have an alignment done and then figure out where you need to go from there.

If anything I've tried to discourage you from buying the suspension based what you've said your after. I even recommended that you first test drive a 04/05 350Z with 17's. I still feel that you would be best served by getting oem Z springs and Tokico D-specs. I hope you know that I compleatly understand how you might be advirse to a solution that means spending more then what a Z suspension cost's, even though I've driven on D-spec's first hand. Only word of caution I'll say is that people tend to overlook the negitive point's in a suspension and gloss the good.

Renesis, I agree with Jim. I personally drove an '04 6MT Sedan with coupe springs and the Tokico D-Specs. I believe the adjustments ***** were set in the exact middle in front and back I believe. I noticed the ride quality was much improved over my OEM 350Z setup immediately upon the test drive. Mind you this was in the middle settings. Tried to flog it around a little bit and the dampening control felt just as good as my setup from the limited amount of testing I could do. I'm sure if I turned it a bit stiffer the performance would have been better. But I've never driven a car with an '04 Z suspension so I can't compare the two. I can only compare it to my '03 Z setup. Basically if you got the money, do yourself a favor and go straight for the D-specs (350Z version preferably) and use them with 350Z springs. That's probably what I'm going to do with my suspension in the future but I'm holding out to see what other products become available first before I make a decision.

I trust you Jim, I would love to get the D-spec if I got the money right now but I can't seem to reject such a good deal coz I was trying to find a 04 for so long. Oh well, if anyone want to take this away from me for a good price, I would be glad to do it.

Gsedan35: do you recommend the D-Specs for the G (DSP-7) or the Z (DSP-9) with the oem z springs?

With oem Z springs get the DSP-9's (350Z version).

Renesis, I recently put on a set of 03 350z suspension I got off from Jim (thanks Gsedan35) and I think you will find the ride to be very harsh for roads here in VanCity..

I never tried the 04 revised version... so i can't compare the two.. but I think for me, I'll definately want some D-Spec in the future to go with my 03 350z springs.

are your 04 suspension assembled already? I mean is the front still intact with the spring mounted and all?

since you got it already why not just install them and see how you like them? Might take you a while to install but once you get a hang of it, it's very easy to do.

I just installed mine last weekend with my buddy... it was a little tough at first, but after we did the first front side and frist back side, the 2nd time around was really fast and easy to do.

I really want to try some 04 350z springs to see how different it'll feel.. I orignally wanted the 04s like you but I just can't find any around here... so I went with the 03s, and I was prepared for a very stiffen ride...

After I got it on and now i've driven for over 4 days through Roards in vancouver, Burnaby and Richmond... I am finally getting used to feeling the little bumps and humps on the road surfaces now I think it might take me a while to totally get used to it since I'm coming from non-sport suspension and now to the 03 350z suspension... but I can tell you that all the advertised results from previous threads on how the G handles with the 350z springs are absolutely true.

and what Jim have posted over and over again is very true as well. Weight transfer is night and day better, roll issue is pretty much gone in corners.

if you are serious about getting rid of your 04s.. pm me a price... I'm really kinda interested to see how different they are.. but ultimately... I think... one should really look for the D-Specs shocks. The firmer setting on the shocks should help out the ride issue quite a bit..

just me 2 cents..
