How much does your dealer charge for oil change?

if you have a garage, and some jack stands, just do it yourself. I'd buy the service manual and do all the standard stuff myself, much cheaper. Save your receipts for everything that you do and document everything in word or excel. Many of the interval services are very, very easy to do and I'm not the most mechanically inclined either.

Oh boy, it's that time again and I'm outta freebies. Should I: 1) Take the G35 to a Jiffy Lube (or similar), 2) Take it to another Infiniti dealer, or 3) Do it myself?
To keep with the thread, the Chain-Store charges $27.99, Different Infiniti dealer charges $39 and is 30 mi away (Dealership I bought car from charges $68 - see first post), Do it myself = $12 +mess +time & hassel.

Glendale Infiniti charges $36. If you bring in your own oil and filter it is $16.
Alternatively, a batch of good oil, filter, drain pan, and filter wrench will cost about $30. Doing it yourself will give you the peace of mind that it was done properly. Oh, if you want, you can buy a new crushable copper washer for the oil plug which is supposed to be replaced every time.

Ok, I wasn't on here when this thread was up and going originally. When we took our '04 in for the first scheduled service (3750) they did the "factory schedule" ****. It was $90 out the door. I am really worried what all this is going to cost us in the long run. Can I do it myself - YES - I choose not to as I have little extra time and I would likely not gain much from it anyway seeing as I do not own all of the helpful tools, etc. In other words it is more of a royal pain in my a$$ to do it rather than drop it by to have it done. Obviously I COULD take it to express oil change or jiffy lube or one of those but I don't trust those guys most times. Had one tell me my Saturn needed brake pads when he rotated the tires. I said, thank you I'll take care of it (guess women are too stupid to change their own brakes). He got upset but went on about it. Well went and bought the pads took the tires off - they weren't HALF to the indicator yet!
Anyway, has anyone else done the "schedule 1" service and if so, what did it cost you?

Went and found the print out from the dealer and compared it to the "schedule 1" (which is what we asked for) but no they apparently did the "premium schedule" list of things. Inspected everything, did a brake cleaner (?), injector cleaner, and some oil additive. Believe me that the next time we take it in I will be making sure that they understand that I will pay for what I ask for and not what they think is "best".

$32. out the door. The last oil change was $54. It was supposed to be my 7500 oil change but I told them not to rotate the tires because I did them myself. The receipt said they used castrol syntec blend. I guess that's why they charged me that much.
Plus they give free loaner and wash your car. DICKSMITH INFINITI

you can do a full synthetic oil/filter change with a K&N filter for $32 tax included if you do it yourself. Walmart 5 quart Mobil 1 is $20 and a K&N at auto store is $10. Just dont buy the Fram crap. Mobil 1 filter is like $6-7 bucks. Buying the oil drain pan and wrench is a one time purchase. Get some ramps to drive up on, much easier than jacking the car up. Takes you 30 minutes maybe the first time you do it, should be even less after that. You dealership guys/girls are getting hosed.
