05 6MT Sedan - clicking noise
I only have about 500 miles on my 05 6MT sedan. I noticed that while the car is running and for about 5 minutes after I turn it off, there is a "clicking noise coming from underneath. It's pretty audible - I can't hear it while I'm driving, but if I stop, have the window down, and no radio on, I can hear it.
Any ideas? I don't think it's a gas-related knock, I haven't had a car knock in years, but I think of a knock as when it seems like it won't turn off for a while. I've only put in one tank of gas, Mobil - 91 Octane.
Thanx!

Is your car brand new (meaning you just picked it up off the lot)? Mine didn't do the popping during driving (not that I was listening for it), but after a nice warm run, it did so for the first 500 miles or so....
Well, as I am a dumbass and a blind one at that, I just re-read your first post. Yeah, you shouldn't worry about it, but if it continues past the first 1200 miles, take it in to the dealer to have the cat inspected.

We should do a sticky for common newbie questions, such as:
1. Burning smell -- some metal components have a oily coating to protect them while in storage and shipping -- this burns off in the first 500 or so miles.
2. Vibration or buzzing sound coming from brakes -- this is normal self-checking that the ABS does at about 3-4 mph (7km/hr).
Keeping in mind that if symptoms persist, you may have a real problem
Anyone else want to add some more???
