So on my way to work, there is this great spot where three freeways merge in succession, offering several opportunities for aggressive driving. Yesterday, was a gorgeous sunny day here in Michigan, and when I hit this particular stretch of road, I had INXS blasting, the sunroof open, and my foot on the pedal. Oh boy was this fun!!!!!
I glanced in my rearview, and what do I see??? State Trooper!!! Look down, needle is almost at 100 mph. Dad taught me never to hit the brakes, so I tried dropping down to 4, but he was already on my a$$. Three inches from my bumper to be exact. BUSTED!
He walks up to my car, and since I've had the car for less than a week, it takes me a minute to realize I locked the passenger window (we are sitting there on the side of I-275). I finally get the window open and when he asks for license, registration and insurance, I realize, I don't have my proof of insurance in the car and have no registration yet...
"Do you know you were going over 90 mph??", he asks. I informed him that I do realize it, and smiled, letting him know my '98 Jetta didn;t even go that fast and I am still getting used to the car. I removed my sunglasses and told him I really didn't realize how fast I was going. He asked if I was late for work. I pointed across the highway to my office and told him I was almost an hour early (I was).
He took my info, and asked me about my driving record (luckily it has been clean for over 4 years). He let me sit for a couple of miutes, then called me ove his LOUDSPEAKER to the passenger side of his car. He let me know that not only did I not have the necessary documentation, but my plate had not yet been transferred. He told me that he understooid my old car was not fast, but this one was and handed me my stuff back and sent me to work.
I guess honesty was the best policy here. I just wonder if my name is recorded with the warning, in case I get pulled over again (I don't plan on slowing down too much until winter...)

With this car, you really must be careful about speed. I find myself driving 20-30 mph over the limit all the time. It's very easy to go 100. So I'm constantly on the lookout for cops. Even with the Passport, you need to watch for cops not running radar or laser. They can easily spot you moving faster than everyone else and bust you by vision only. It kind of takes away from the fun when you are constantly looking for trouble. Good thing your cop understands the love of speed. Guess he figured that with a new car that is capable of 145 mph, a good guy sometimes forgets himself.
I was driving up the New York State Throughway doing about 10mph over and I spotted a G35 fly by us. Right now I am driving my sister's 01 Subaru Wagon while she is overseas, but will be buying a G35 when she gets back this summer. Anyway, my girlfriend, who was riding shotgun, didnt know what a G35 looked like so I figured this was the opertunity to show her. So I had to speed up to catch up... this guy was flying, not doing 100, but going pretty fast. Eventually I caught up to him after reaching 90+ (not easy for the wagon). Just as my girlfriend finished assessing the G35, a clearing opens up in the trees, and sure enough, there is a NYS Trooper. Pretty much, both me and the G said 'oh s#!t' and started to slow down. I feel bad for him though, the trooper went after the nice looking Infiniti rather than the pokey wagon.
I had problems speeding in my old Altima, I dont know what kind of trouble I am going to get into in my new G come the summer

Was on 275 Southbound, just past where I-696 and M-5 merge into it. It is very fun in the mornings.

As far as your name being recorded with a warning, I seriously doubt it. That's why it's called a warning - he he. There is no such system apart from them writing in their little notebooks. Chances are, if you get pulled over again it will be the same trooper and he WILL remember you. Just put an egg between your foot and pedal and you should be okay.
