HKS sounds deep and solid like a sports car. its definatly not too loud after hearing it on the outside.

Kodeslinger,

I have an 05 6MT with a coupe midpipe and it fits w/o any problems.
I've had it for about 2 weeks now and I like the way it sounds.

I definitely recommend it!

Hmmm...so the midpipe won't even fit? That's weird. I thought that Infiniti would keep it the same after the Y-pipe. Oh well.

I'm not so sure about that...

I may be loosing it but I though there was an older post
that said the Y-pipe area was where the conflict is.

It's likely the transfer case that's the problem.
So I guess it would depend where it's located.

Y-pipe is different on the "X" to clear the transfer case on the passenger side- the midpipe should fit with few issues (perhaps heat shield).

The interesting thing in the FSM is for the 2WD model is it gives a specific torque value for the nuts/bolts (ex: 30 ft/lb) whereas the AWD model lists a range for the same fastener (ex: 27-33 ft/lb).

Edit: A quick call to the parts desk shows different part #'s for the AWD and 2WD midpipe, but their (cursory) visual inspection couldn't determine any differences.

I called Mark from Grubbs Infiniti to order the Coupe Midpipe but he told me they were all out and he had a waiting list for them already?! These things must be in pretty high demand but anyways I am third on the waiting list so if anyone is trying to sell theirs PM me, thanks.

I posted back in Dec. 04' about my switch over to the cpe. middy and my success with it. It all started out as an only option to answer the lack of available X exhaust upgrades. Still glad I did it JBX
