Turning off X-Band detection; good idea?
I live in SFL, got a BEL V95, turned off x and POP...too annoying, and always false.
Annoying thing is, one time I was driving down the road on the right lane, I see a cop so I slow down, but radar or laser never go off. The car right behind me on the left lane gets caught.
My detector didn't even beep...makes me feel like I wasted $300 for nothing. If the cop was using laser, it should've crossed my car.
I'm thinking of getting a V1 instead from all the good things I've heard about it...especially that it tells you from which direction the signal is coming from. That'll help me alot.

My Escort has saved me a countless times in San Antonio, TX and the surrounding countryside. After 2 years of owning this radar detector I actually ran into one x band speed trap. It was a motorcycle cop at the bottom of a hill on a side road. My recommendation is to leave x band active.
