G35 vs. Maxima
Re: G35 vs. Maxima
Nope. There is a line between a standard and luxury division that are close, and two separate divisions that fall under the same corporate ownership. Those lines may blur in the future, but for now I think there's still a definate difference between Chrylser/Plymouth/Dodge and the Mercedes camp. A Lincoln is a Ford. A Jaguar is just owned by them. Of course, this is just an opinion. But, if it did come down to it, I'd call a Chrysler a Mercedes, and not the other way around.

Well, then explain why the X-type (the only Jag in the price range of a G) uses all FORD Mondeo underpinnings. They just havn't gotten around to mucking up the bigger Jags yet. But then again, if you drive an S-Type (even with an 8), it's already a lousy car to begin with.

Re: G35 vs. Maxima
Going a little off topic here but the new Chrysler’s are starting to use some Mercedes parts such as the new Chrysler Pacifica they use some of the switches, electronics, instrument dash from Mercedes and the new Chrysler Crossfire is going to use the same 3.2L engine that Mercedes uses in various models such as the CLK320 and the E320 to name a few. But the relationship between parts shared with MB and Chrysler is still grim.
Re: G35 vs. Maxima
a minor detail on the 215 G35 tires, although wide tires look impressive and add traction, they create more road noise since you have more rubber in contact with the road at any point in time. So it's a trade off.
Re: G35 vs. Maxima
I'm not sure if you guys are serious. Chrysler and Mercedes, at this point have nothing in common, with the exception of the Crossfire, which has a Chrysler badge, but is built on the SLK platform and was entirely designed in Stuttgart, and is built in Germany.
