Longest mileage on brake pads?

I hear lots of complaints on brake pads on the G. What's the longest anyone has gone between replacing the stock pads?

I’m sure he was being sarcastic. I made it all the way to 15,000 mi, but from what I’ve read that’s pretty typical.

Had mine replaced at the 18,750 mile service. I don't think the second set will last that long. I'm getting a lot of squealing and I've only got 26,000 miles on the car. The service managar at my dealership suggested that I switch to EBC Green pads after the warranty expires. He said they last longer and don't squeak as much.

Oh, or perhaps it was a typo? I made it to 15k too, the dealer said it was about average, arrgh, that's fine as long as the warranty is in effect, but afterwards...............

Abq, I’m right there with you. I should get one more set before the warranty expires and then I’ll start pouring through the aftermarket brake threads so I can decide what brand to go with.

Nova, my replacements did the same thing! Hopefully the latest generation replacement pads will be better.

G4ian, what year is your G? How did you make it so long on your brakes? (That is miles right?)

15K for both my first and second set of front pads.

NovaJay - Your dealer suggested EBC Greensfuff??? Are they willing to install them too? My dealer will not install pads not offered by Infiniti....

Did Infiniti do anything about the brake pads in the 05s?

My service manager said to bring them in and he would install them. It's Passport Infiniti in Alexandria, VA and they have a pretty good reputation for being mod and aftermarket parts friendly.

Not sure if they did anything or not, but they don't make any dust at all...

I'm curious to see how this plays out - seeing as how the reputation of this car is to eat brakes..

Mine is brand new, but I'll post as soon as I have a problem..

Yes, it is miles. I wore into the rotors in th front. And the back pads were in spec but barely. So I complained about intermittent rear brake noise at 34,000 miles. Rear brake squeal is a TSB and they replaced the pads for free. I don't think that I baby the car at all in regards to braking. I need to have them inspected again to make sure they are ok. I don't want to buy rotors on my own $!
