Now that I've completely taken over the "G" from my wife (SheGee) I've gotta come up w/an alternative that'll placate her without hav'n ta buy another "G". I've pretty much made my mind up ta go with a Mini Cooper "S" manual to replace the turbo diesel Jetta she's stuck in. The qtr.mi. time of 14.8 and 0 to 60 in 6.4
is respectable and it's a FUN
car to drive. And, it's remarkable that I can get my 6'5" A5S in (no **** !
) so easy with room ta spare. Any suggestions......I'm not go'n over the LOW $20's so be realistic

Probs w/the Cooper (eng. elecs.)were supposed to have been resolved as of 05', and every test I've read says it's so. Anyway I thought I'd get away from the cookie cutter cars of Nippon and go elsewhere for a change....hence the Cooper.....no?

By replacing a Jetta diesel, it sounds like fuel economy might be a concern and warranted by the growing price of gas. Other cars mentioned w/ V6's will make the transition a little more of a reality check. If you are going to get a car new, the Mini has held it's value better than all others in its class. If you or your wife decides to get rid of it, you are likely to lose less $ in the process. If I am correct, the warranty on the cars is ~ 5/60K, standard. And I agree, @ 6'2'' 200+ there is alot of room in it. Very fun cars! Definitely the "S".
