Question Second car choices..... hep me! hep me!

Now that I've completely taken over the "G" from my wife (SheGee) I've gotta come up w/an alternative that'll placate her without hav'n ta buy another "G". I've pretty much made my mind up ta go with a Mini Cooper "S" manual to replace the turbo diesel Jetta she's stuck in. The qtr.mi. time of 14.8 and 0 to 60 in 6.4 is respectable and it's a FUN car to drive. And, it's remarkable that I can get my 6'5" A5S in (no **** ! ) so easy with room ta spare. Any suggestions......I'm not go'n over the LOW $20's so be realistic JBX

I think the mini is a good idea.

Cute car - adored by almost everyone, especially those who bought them. (Ok a bit of a dumb statement - but really the people who own them LOVE them)

Accord or TCX both in lower 20's
Both have a lot of room and the V6 has some power to spare.

If you are OK with an american then how about G6. Now you wil have to Gs

I've heard nothing but good things about the Mini S. My GF has a TSX (AT) and it's pretty fun to drive, and have heard better things about the MT version.

Probs w/the Cooper (eng. elecs.)were supposed to have been resolved as of 05', and every test I've read says it's so. Anyway I thought I'd get away from the cookie cutter cars of Nippon and go elsewhere for a change....hence the Cooper.....no?

Try driving a Pontiac Vibe which is really a Toyota Matrix, same car diff skin. My neice bought one, it rides great, has lots of features and is in the low 20's. She bought a 2004 with lots of features for 14000.00 with 13000 miles on it.

By replacing a Jetta diesel, it sounds like fuel economy might be a concern and warranted by the growing price of gas. Other cars mentioned w/ V6's will make the transition a little more of a reality check. If you are going to get a car new, the Mini has held it's value better than all others in its class. If you or your wife decides to get rid of it, you are likely to lose less $ in the process. If I am correct, the warranty on the cars is ~ 5/60K, standard. And I agree, @ 6'2'' 200+ there is alot of room in it. Very fun cars! Definitely the "S".
