Confused with Edmunds.com

This ~9.5% markup is simply the difference between invoice and MSRP. Rebates / incentives, whether customer cash or dealer cash are truly separate, contrary to how your "net" cost is often presented by salesman. Keep in mind, that this 9.5% varies significantly among manufacturers and even models. SUV's generally have a greater spread between invoice and MSRP, not that any dealer is getting more these days.
I have verified Edmunds.com's invoice numbers several times with actual dealer invoices.
.........
I just checked Edmunds and the markup on a 2005 G35 sedan w/ Premium B & Sport packages: MSRP $35560 with invoice of $32522. This yields a 8.54% markup. JustBrilliantX might be including dealer holdback to account for the extra 1%.
