Just test drove a 05 G35x

Found a couple 03.5 G35s on the Infiniti Richmond website today for under 24K so I visited the dealer after work and found out they were loaner cars. Told the sales rep I was only interested in privately owned vehicles. Then he trys talking me into a new 04 or 05, but with a baby on the way I can't justify the extra cash. Finally I ask if I can take a car for a spin and expect to get keys to one of the used loaner cars. Instead he throws an inteli-key into a midnight blue 05x...sweet! My wife jumps in the passenger as the salesman heads back inside and away we go. I'm still amazed how tight this car drives and the exhaust note is just purrrrfect. Hell, even the Bose stereo sounded great ; )

Can't wait get my 03.5 or 04

That's too bad...Our loaner cars were maintained better than most privately owned G's. After all, they were our best source of advertising and after two years of selling them...I never had one come back for anything other than minor warranty work (clicking noise by windshield, etc.) Oh well, I know better than to try and convince anybody of anything that doesn't knock a dealership.

Not always a matter of trusting the dealer, it is the amount of wear/use a loaner may have from the many drivers that may have a tendency to be a bit harsher on a car.

I guess it's like buying a used rental car. Who knows what was done to them. All the maintenance in the world can't make up for thrashing a car that you don't own.
