Hey every one.. I just got the Gtech Pro-RR . My car is stock right now but I plan on doing some mods in the future and using the Gtech to gauge the HP gains (or lack of).
If you have played with one you know that you have to set your cars redline on the Gtech.
Does any one know what the redline should be set at on the 2005 5AT?
The Infiniti web site dont really advise you of the actual redline.

Well I found the answer.. in case anyone else needs to know according to Technosquare, the chip reprogramers, the rev limiter is set at 6600 rpm.

If the rev limiter is 6600, then my tach is off. I've (accidentally) bounced off 7000rpm a couple of times. The surprising thing was I didn't hit the fuel cut-off.

I havent got to play with it too much but I used the weight on the Infiniti website plus 1/2 take of gas @ 6lbs per gallon and my body weight 200lbs.

I cant find a nice even, level road that is long enough to reach 60+MPH safely. I may have to take it to the track. The HP that I did get showed about 157HP. Keep in mind that that is neither real wheel HP or Engine HP.

Scientific Intake Gain Measurement
I have a 2003 G35 Sedan
Full Tank (without me): 3580, weighed on two seperate scales.

Intake measurements (Same day weigh, 2nd gear tests WOT from 3500 to 6700 rpm, same staging points, flat, opposing directions, 10 runs per test, 4 degrees temperature differential, 94 octane, fuel and driver weight corrected):
In chronological order over 4 hour span
Test One: Bone Stock Car - Plotted in Black
Test Two: Removal of Stock Air Filter (Filterless) - Plotted in Red
Test Three: AEM Intake (only mod from stock) - Plotted in Green
Test Four: Bone Stock Car
Test Five: Removal of Stock Air Filter (Filterless)
Test Six: AEM Intake (only mod from stock)

I wanted to ensure the accuracy of my results, thus, the re-testing of each of the 3 setups. These tests mirrored the results from the first 3 tests within very small tolerances.

60 Samples Taken - Best Average Representation from Tests 1, 2, & 3 plotted

AEM:
- No obvious difference from stock below 5300rpm
- Between 5350 and 5800rpm, AEM did NOT perform as well as filterless stock in majority of samples (18 out of 20), averaging 2HP drop below filterless stock.
- Largest gains over stock and filterless stock airbox between 6200 & 6700rpm, averaging 3.5HP.

Observation: Big Gain in free flowing filter in Stock Airbox. Worth while modification. Similar Gain with AEM CAI, relative to filterless, with the AEM gaining output at the very top end and loosing some in the middle.

In conclusion: The stock intake with a free flowing filter will offer VERY similar real world performance characteristics as that of the AEM Cold Air Intake. Major differences inlude the AEM's throaty growl under high load, as well as the risk of water inhilation and engine damage.

That's cool. Nice work.

I have an Gtec SS but have only put it in the car once. I don't think it does all that stuff.
