Brake Warranty Question?
Brake Warranty Question?
My '03 sedan has 37k miles on it and the brake pads/front rotors are shot. I know there are several tech bulletins out regarding the brakes, but the question I have is, do they fall under the normal 60k warranty? I bought the car with 29k miles on it and I believe this is the second set of pads that have been trashed.
I guess I'd like to know what options I have prior to heading to the dealership.

I would probably take your G to the dealer as soon as you can. They should still honor the warranty since you are only 1K miles over the warranty.
Yeah, that's what I plan to do. If not covered, any idea how hard it is for the do it yourselfer, are they like any other pad/rotor setup?

I don't think Brakes are covered in the warranty.
Remember your salesman said "wear and tear parts are not covered..."
From what I understand, brakes, tires, fluids fillup are not covered. No harm in checking with the dealer though.
Plus the basic warranty with this car is 48 mo/60,000 miles.
Power train is 72 mo/70,000 miles.
Good luck.

I am assuming you have an 03 Sedan by the looks of your sig. Like Tom already stated, you have a 3 year/36k mile warranty on your pads and rotors. This is because of the wear issues that the 03 and 04 models have. From my understanding, this warranty no longer exists on the 05 models.

i bought an 04G35 sedan, and i received a 3year/36,000mile warranty for just my brakes, because they are "race oriented" should not break before that, so if anything starts to break or if they fade, they will be fixed under warranty but after that they dont have to honor it....

I havea 03 with 23 KM ( 12 mile) & I just had the front & rear replaced under warranty in Canada. What pissed me off is they just turned the rotors so in another 12,000 miles I will likely have to do them again outside the warranty & now I will have to pay for new rotors
Well if the rotors are within spec they will not replace it. They replaced both my brakes because they were almost gone. Front rotors still had 2mm left before they are below spec so they did not change them.
Just Keep an eye on the brakes and go back before the 36k miles are over maybe you will get the rotors for free too. At least that what I plan to do.

Ya but my 3 years is up in December & I will probaly only put on another 4,000 miles by then so the pads will be fine, so they will go down the road outside of warranty & probably then need replacement instead of turning, that is why I was hoping they would replace them, so I could just turn them when I replace the pads. Thanks again
