My 05 nav has made several big errors so far
The programming for the NJ turnpike between 16E Secausus to Rt 78 exit 14 has 2 major errors. I had to get to Harmon Meadows Plaza in Secausus from rt 78 and after the toll at 16E the nav told me to get on 495 East and get off at Kennedy Blvd when all I had to was go straight for about 1 mile. Next mistake was going south on the way home, I followed the nav directions for Rt 78 exit 14 and the nav started to recalculate my route to exit 13 in Elizabeth. My guess is that the trnpike had some construction work after the dvd version, but I just got my 05 last wk so how old is the latest DVD as it obviously isn't that up to date and really should be. Anybody else with an 05 with errors on their DVD. How often does Infiniti update these things?

Don't know the answer to your question, but my '04 Nav system let me down today, too. It seemed to get confused, and put me in an "endless loop".
I was trying to go to a house in a 10 year old subdivision, and the Nav system had me get off the freeway (#99), then drive across the overpass, down the frontage road, and back on the freeway in the opposite direction, then about 5 miles down the freeway, had me get off, cross the overpass, down the frontage road and back on the freeway in the opposite direction, then again, etc., etc. - finally referred to Yahoo Maps printout my secretary gave me, "just in case".
Anybody else ??

i've used my nav quite a bit since i got my car since i've been house hunting every weekend. it hasn't failed me yet. of course, there are some kinks in the system where the nav took me on some odd paths. but in the end, i always get to my destination. however, i really don't expect the nav to be 100% perfect. since roads do change at times.

After I got my car on Oct 2002, I think I have used the stock navi to go to more than fifty places where I had never gone to before, and only once I couldn't reach the destination I punched in. There were a few times that it taught me some wierd paths to make me turn left and right ten times, when in fact there were some easier paths. But overall I give two thumbs up for this navigation system. It is easy to use, clear and easy to understand screen and voice guidance, accurate to the actual distance, very frequent voice guidance, automatically turning down the music volume, etc. I love it.

Sorry if this is off topic but I have a quick question for you guys with NAVI's in your G rides. I have noticed recently that the GPS signal strength icon on the upper top left corner of my NAVI screen is showing lots of yellow and gray lately. Are you guys experiencing the same thing? Some days I only get a green icon for about 10-20% of the time, the rest of the time all I get is yellow and gray. Is there something wrong with my NAVI reception? - Mike

Yeah the NAV is only going to be as good as the information put into it. My job requires me to read a map to get to anywhere from 10-20 addresses per day. Sometimes even in my expensive mapbook streets are wrong or not even there. I think the NAV should be used as a supplement instead of a substitute but that's just my opinion.

I recently had a problem where the NAV wanted to take me to the wrong location. It took me to the correct street but I needed to be 1 town farther east on the same road.
As far as NJ goes, I was there last week and I was very impressed that the NAV system was able to get me through those screwy "Jug Handle" U-Turns that NJ is so famous for. It even guided me to the car only lanes of the NJ TPK.
