05 Sedan weighs more than 04 coupe but both have 280 HP. I give the edge to the coupe by just a little bit.

that would actually be an interesting race...i would try both ways..but i would put my money on the sedan winning from a dead stop

What these differences mean in real life speed is probably insignificant compared to driver skill. The 05s are heavier.

05 Sedan:
Auto transmission 280 @ 6,200 RPM
Manual transmission 298 @ 6,400 RPM
Torque
Auto transmission 270 lb-ft @ 4,800 RPM
Manual transmission 260 lb-ft @ 4,800 RPM
G35 3,468 lbs
G35 6MT 3,512 lbs
Coefficient of Drag (Cd) 0.27 / with spoiler – 0.26

04 coupe
Weight A/T 3,416 3,435 6MT
Torque 270
HP 280
Coefficient of Drag (Cd) 0.29/0.28 with spoiler

Lets see...both have 18s, weight around the same, and have the same engine output. I'd say its a driver's race

05 sedan auto does not have 18s. They come with 17s.

Well I can tell you this much, I have an 05 sedan and I raced my friend in his 04 coupe manual and in the beginning I got ahead by maybe 2 feet and until 80mph it was pretty even with me ahead by 2 ft. He also has the 18 inch rims, premium package, and a passenger in the car which all makes a factor in weight cosidering I have the 17 inch rims and no premium package. I also went dead even with a 2005 350Z from a dead stop a couple of times. So I personally think the 05 Sedans are a little underrated and are a lot quicker then most people think.
